Our hands-on internship program offers students the chance to work alongside a dynamic and innovative team, who design global programs to educate the public about key topics in U.S.-Asia relations.
Established in 1998, Asia Society Northern California Center is strategically located on the Pacific Rim and at the entrance to Silicon Valley. The center connects the diverse local community in the San Francisco Bay Area with a network of global leaders in policy, business, arts and culture, education, and technology/innovation. Through large conferences, Executive Roundtable briefings, panel discussions, cultural programs, and networking events and dinners, Asia Society Northern California provides educational and engaging forums on critical issues facing the US, Asia, and the world.
The internship is based in Northern California and requires a minimum of 320 hours over a period of 3-4 months, with flexible hours ranging from 20-40 hours per week. Interns will gain practical experience in three key areas: planning, implementation, and evaluation. They will have the opportunity to assist with event coordination, develop program content, create multimedia content, handle social media outreach, and much more.
To be considered for the internship, applicants must be studying international relations/studies, communications, English, journalism, marketing, or a related field, and have flexible hours that align with their class schedule and course requirements. This is an unpaid internship, but course credit may be offered as an option.
