About Derm Wellness

Derm Wellness is a growing dermatology practice providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care. We are committed to delivering evidence-based, personalized care in a professional, welcoming, and patient-centered environment.

We are seeking a highly motivated Medical & Administrative Assistant to work closely with our board-certified dermatologist and become an integral part of the clinical team.

This position is particularly well suited for a pre-medical or other healthcare student taking a gap year before medical school, graduate school, or further education who is looking for meaningful, hands-on exposure to medicine and patient care.

Position Overview

The Medical & Administrative Assistant will work directly alongside the dermatologist and will be involved in multiple aspects of patient care, clinical operations, and medical office administration.

Unlike a traditional administrative position, this role provides an opportunity to gain broad exposure to the day-to-day practice of dermatology while developing important skills in patient communication, clinical workflow, medical documentation, and healthcare operations.

The ideal candidate is intelligent, compassionate, detail-oriented, dependable, and genuinely interested in pursuing a career in medicine.

We are especially interested in candidates who are:

  • Taking gap year before medical school, PA school, nursing, or another healthcare profession
  • Interested in gaining substantial clinical experience before further education
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn
  • Comfortable interacting with patients of all ages and backgrounds
  • Professional, mature, and dependable
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to multitask in a busy clinical environment
  • Strong written and verbal communicators
  • Comfortable learning new technology and electronic medical record systems
  • Interested in developing a deeper understanding of medicine and patient care

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and qualifications
  • Opportunity for substantial clinical exposure
  • Direct mentorship from a board-certified dermatologist including guidance on medical school or other professional school applications
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Opportunity to develop skills applicable to future medical or healthcare education
  • Potential for increased responsibility as the practice grows
