We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Auditor with accounting or auditing experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with financial statement audits, compliance audits, and accounting projects while working closely with clients and firm leadership.
This position offers the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of industries, including government entities, nonprofit organizations, employee benefit plans, and commercial businesses (enterprise funds).
Responsibilities
- Perform audit fieldwork and testing procedures in accordance with professional standards.
- Prepare audit workpapers and financial statement disclosures.
- Analyze financial records and identify unusual transactions or trends.
- Assist with planning, risk assessment, and internal control documentation.
- Communicate with clients to obtain information and resolve audit questions.
- Participate in governmental audits, employee benefit plan audits, and nonprofit audits.
- Assist with preparation of management letters and audit reports.
- Work collaboratively with engagement teams to meet deadlines and client expectations.
- Maintain compliance with firm quality control policies and professional standards.
- Participate in continuing professional education and professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2+ years of accounting or auditing experience preferred.
- CPA license or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
- Understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel periodically to client locations.
