About the job

New Stanton Borough is seeking a motivated intern to assist with day-to-day municipal operations. This is a great opportunity for a college student or recent graduate interested in local government, public administration, political science, pre-law, criminal justice, urban planning, communications, business administration, or a related field.

The intern will help with Right-to-Know request support, equipment inventory, website updates, document organization, basic research, and general administrative projects. This position will provide hands-on exposure to how local government works and how borough services are delivered to residents.

The ideal candidate should be reliable, organized, professional, and comfortable working with elected officials, staff, residents, and outside agencies. Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, willingness to learn new software systems, and the ability to work well with others are important. Prior municipal experience is not required.

Process: There will be a short, 15-20m phone interview followed by a 30m in person interview.

Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week during the summer

Pay: $16/hour
