Position Summary:
The Seasonal Flushing Fieldman is responsible for flushing and recording data from District owned fire hydrants. This position will involve physical labor, use of hand tools and heavy equipment. Additionally, this position contributes to the regulatory compliance and efficient operations of the District.
Essential Functions:

• Responsible for driving to designated addresses using GPS System, and/or by reading maps and following flushing routes.
• Record the start and end time during flow and blow off, read and record chlorine readings using a chlorometer, conduct static and residual pressure tests.
• Perform routine duties such as:
• Use technology to log task completion and record notes.
• Perform daily inspections of vehicles/equipment.
• Complete tasks, when necessary, without the direction of the Crew Leader and/or Foreman.
• Interact with public and customers, direct complaints, or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Communicate to Crew Leader, Foreman and/or Supervisor issues that may hinder the efficient operation of the department/District.
• Address water quality complaints in specificized region.
• Complies with all company policies.

Required Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma/GED
• Customer service experience.
• General working knowledge of use of hand tools.
Licensing/Certifications:
• Valid Driver’s License

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read, write and use basic arithmetic and grammar.
• Ability to work with customers and other employees in a courteous manner.
• Basic computer skills.
• Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative, and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This job requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, reaching, standing, sitting, lifting, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Heavy Work: exerting up to 50 pounds. Environmental conditions: subject to extreme heat, cold, humidity, wetness, noise, and vibration. Works with equipment such as computer, copy machine, fax, and phones. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach for objects. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. There is no regular travel expected for this position.
