The Project Engineer position with our firm is a salaried position that requires an undergraduate degree from a Civil Engineering Program.

The position includes oversight of on-going projects including Project Management and Construction Administration, Field Testing, Building Envelope Assessments/Reviews, Report Writing and Design and Development of Construction Documents for Restoration Projects. A Project Engineer with our firm is required to have an undergraduate degree in civil engineering. Knowledge of construction, construction materials, roofing, waterproofing, and exterior walls is not required, but considered an asset for this position. On the job training will be provided and it is expected that the Project Engineer will “shadow” a senior engineer for various projects to develop an understanding of the industry and projects.
In addition, the Project Engineer position is a position that is designed for an employee with the intention of seeking full professional licensure within Florida, Ontario and/or other locations where RJH provides services.
The ideal candidate should be a person that is capable of performing work related tasks on their own. Working on their own (with support/direction from Senior Engineers and Associates), the candidate should have excellent problem solving skills, exhibit determination and drive to complete the tasks assigned, and be capable of knowing THEIR own work productivity. Because of the nature of the job (remote and/or travel work) a high level of trust is placed in the employee to perform their duties and meet deadlines.
TRAVEL: RJH has offices located in Houston TX, Charlotte NC, Sarasota FL, London ON, with our head office located in Destin, FL. At times, personnel from various offices will need to travel to other offices to assist on projects.
Relocation is available if the candidate is eligible and/or wishes to relocate.
RJH services international level clients and has projects located across North America. As such, last minute travel may be required.
Our standard work office schedule for our offices is Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm and Fridays 8:00am to 12:00pm. However, particular projects, travel to projects on commercial airlines early in the morning or returning from a project later in the evening may require different hours based on the travel schedule. Full-time employees, unless taking approved PTOs, SST, or Bereavement work exclusively for RJH during the work hours and during the work week.
Sometimes, The position may require travel frequently for a portion of any given week to travel to a project to perform on-site work whether for an investigation, design, meeting or on-site review.
