St. Matthew UMC in Greenville (701 Cleveland St.) is seeking dependable, caring individuals to join our Nursery Ministry Staff.
This is a part-time position primarily on Sunday mornings (approximately 3.5 hours/week) at $20/hour, caring for children ages 6 weeks–4 years. Additional hours are available for special services and church events.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Care professionally for children primarily six weeks to four years old (on special occasions to as old as 5th grade)and generally for three-hour increments every Sunday and for special services and events.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children.
- Maintain a clean and organized nursery.
- Support an environment where parents feel confident and comfortable dropping off their children; establish relationships with parents.
- Lead age-appropriate Bible lessons and activities for preschool-aged children as provided by the DCCM to support early faith development.
- Work with the DCCM, other Nursery Ministry Staff, and nursery volunteers to create an environment that encourages age-appropriate faith formation.
- Adhere to the St. Matthew UMC Safe Sanctuary Policies (provided upon hire).
Must complete a background check and maintain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications. Experience or education in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is a plus!
