EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Associate’s: Health Science or equivalent education/experience
Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
ARRT – Radiography – American Register of Radiologic Technologists
OR ARMRIT-Certified MRI Technologist
OR CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist by CDPH-RHB
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider within 30 Days of hire
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
Two years as a Radiologic Technologist performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging exams.
Experience in an acute care hospital.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
A complete understanding of technical principles, policies, and procedures is required in Magnetic Resonant Imaging.
A complete understanding of technical principles, policies, and procedures is required in general diagnostic radiography to include trauma radiography, routine fluoroscopy, pediatric radiography, surgical radiography, portable radiography.
UMRI safety/protection
Understanding of current departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Understands the concepts of:
Continuous Quality Improvement
Quality Control.
MSDS Program.
Infection Control
Proficiency in MRA imaging with 2D/3D reconstruction skills.
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members of the diagnostic imaging department, staff members of other departments, and the medical staff.
The ability to deal with patients from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds in an effective and respectful manner.
The ability to perform numerous duties -at a given time.
Ability to perform Special Procedures examinations with skill, accuracy, compassion, and tact.
Able to follow verbal and written instructions of technical nature.

Computer Skills – Basic word-processing skills; competent within the HIS (Health Information System), the RIS (Radiology Information System) and PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System).
