Victor Hugo said, “Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.” What ought to defy your silence more than the freedom offered through God’s Word?

As a supported* EthnoArts Specialist, you will work with local musicians, actors, dancers, storytellers, and artisans to go beyond words to shout out the truth communicated through Bible translation.

Today, over 2,000 people groups, nearly 150 million people, still don’t have the Bible translated into their languages! Wycliffe USA believes the Word of God can transform lives when people hear it in their own language, and we urgently need you to join the team!

Job Location: Southeast Asia

Want to work in a different location? Wycliffe USA has many open positions located in Africa, Asia, Europe, Americas, and the Pacific! Even though this job is located overseas, you must be legally authorized to work in the United States as per U.S. employment laws.

What Might You Do?

Every day is different! One day you might meet with local artisans to learn about a community’s art traditions. Later you might help a community develop local ownership through production and distribution of arts.

This job might be for you if…

  • You demonstrate the desire and ability to support corporate Biblical and religious goals and participate in regular work-related spiritual activities without reservation (Spiritual Bona Fide Occupational Qualification)
  • You are passionate about working with local artists to help them develop new creations to reflect their spiritual response to the translated Scriptures.
  • You are excited to work with translation and other language programs to help them reach their goals through the arts.
  • You are eager to learn about local art methods and practice them yourself!
  • You value recording local art traditions for generations to come.
  • You have completed high school and have at least some biblical training.
  • You have at least 2 years experience in performance or study in music, dance, drama, storytelling, poetry, visual, or other art (proficiency in at least one domain).
  • You are willing to learn to communicate effectively in the language of wider communication within the country of service.

*ABOUT SUPPORTED POSITIONS

Non-traditional salaries are needs-based determined by factors of housing and personal expenses based on geographic location, including dependents and their ages, retirement savings, ministry expenses and taxes. Although salaries vary significantly and it’s not possible to provide an exact number for this position, a typical non-traditional salary for a missionary household is $42,600 to $80,982 annually. These salaries do not include your partnership-raised funds for health insurance, worker’s compensation insurance, or Wycliffe assessment.
