Real Estate Analyst for the Maritime Port Sector

Job summary
We are looking for a full-time real estate analyst to help in all facets of our service lines, ranging from lease structuring to valuations, real estate asset management plans and advice in land usage and expansion strategies for ports. Our projects are complex, multi-faceted undertakings, involving sub-contractors or our being sub-contractors to large engineering firms. All of which requires co-ordination of multiple tasks and work product.
The environment is fast paced, with ongoing multiple projects and deadlines. Every project is different and is a learning experience. The position offers exposure to a wide spectrum of real estate analytical challenges and is an excellent opportunity for hands on experience and professional development in the growing sectors of industrial and logistics property, infrastructure, and the ports industries, in an advisory capacity. While this is an entry level position, the optimal candidate should have or be in the process of attaining an MSc in Real Estate.
Duties & responsibilities
- Primary duties include researching and analyzing industrial real estate markets and financial statements; property pro forma, including cash flow; net present value and discounted cash flow; cost-benefit; IRR; due diligence and development feasibility and investment; leases; and other relevant property and industry information.
- Interacting with clients to obtain documents, property and cargo data, and other port and financial data and managing ongoing client project requirements.
- Organizing and presenting data analysis and conclusions and making recommendations for modelling parameters and assumptions for various real estate analyses. Professional guidance in all areas will be given.
- Assisting in developing proposals.
- Project management and team building.
Qualifications, experience & skills
- Master’s degree (MSc) (or pursuing one) in real estate.
- Excellent understanding of the fundamentals of commercial and industrial real estate and appraisal and valuation principles and theory (experience in appraising commercial/industrial properties a plus).
- Highly organized, self-motivated, curious, critical thinker, team-oriented individual keen on learning and exploring new ground in the property and infrastructure fields.
- Excellent verbal communications and writing skills; ability to describe financial analysis and findings succinctly and compellingly in reports.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Project management background a plus.
