Position Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for performing tasks related to basic research projects and analytical methods. Responsible for conducting research activities in the R&D laboratory, executing and performing experiments and technical assays. Responsible for participating in the production of Company samples.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and conduct the plan for assigned projects and sample generation. The plan will consist of the objective, scope, time frame, procedures, training, and allotment of ancillary resources to accomplish the task.
- Partake in drafting, implementation and monitoring of all production processes described in SOPs and WIs (Work Instructions) in accordance to GLP and GMP requirements. Ensure that SOPs and WIs remain up to date and that changes are documented and submitted in accordance with internal procedures.
- Participate in the production of Company samples for partner studies and internal studies. Participate in human donor tissue processing and subsequent lab work and documentation to generate samples.
- Perform human donor tissue order requests and receive tissue samples and perform related work. Document the requests and tissue inventory in accordance with internal procedures. Receive the tissue samples into the Company ERP system.
- Executing GLP studies and GMP tasks in the following aspects:
- Execute the study protocol in accordance to GLP.
- Perform tasks in accordance to GMP.
- Document all raw experimental data and specimens accurately and have the documentation transferred to the Principal Scientist or Chief Scientific Officer for verification and final report writing.
- Report to the Principal Scientist, Chief Scientific Officer or Study Director of unforeseen circumstances that may affect the quality and integrity of the study are noted when they occur and document correction action taken.
- Undertake responsibilities for assigned GLP-compliant studies and GMP tasks to ensure the following:
- Design of experimental protocol.
- The experiment is carried out according to protocol.
- Experimental data are accurately recorded and verified.
- Unforeseen circumstances that may affect the quality and integrity of the study are noted when they occur and corrected action is taken and documented.
- All raw data, documentation, protocols, specimens and final reports are transferred to the archives during the close of the study.
- Develop and perform new research techniques, culture and cell assays.
- Perform basic molecular biology techniques including cell culture, transfection assays, protein isolation and western blotting, RNA extraction, RT-PCR methodology, RNAi, histology (tissue preparation, staining and imaging), and immunohistochemistry.
- Perform immunoassays including ELISA and other cell-based assays.
- Outline assay strategies to meet product development needs for the basic research (pre-clinical) stage. Coordinate investigation by Quality Department and help determine resolution if needed.
- Provide status reports of projects, processes, metrics, and assigned project.
Skills & Abilities
Essential Duty Definition:
- Skills – Basic laboratory skills include tissue culturing, biochemistry, cell biology, biostatistics, and molecular biology.
- Language: English
- Excellent communication skills; fluent (oral/written) English.
- Microsoft Office: Standard Applications
- Proficient in Microsoft software applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Position Expertise/Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field
- Wet Lab Experience
- Experience in immunoassays including ELISA, Electrophoresis, and other cell-based assays.
