Job Summary:
Assist the Community School Coordinator with providing a safe, secure, and structured after school environment for elementary school students participating in 21st Century Community Learning Centers at Windsor Elementary. Help community partners as they are delivering programs, demonstrate positive behavior management techniques, and lead pre-planned, structured activities for children.
Responsibilities:
• Provide supervision for children in the 21st Century after school program and engage them in planned activities
• Serve as site point of contact when Community School Coordinator leaves, to include leading dismissal and coordinating with staff and parents
• Knowledge of school safety and emergency procedures
• Maintain a safe workplace by monitoring children, reporting any concerns immediately to the program coordinator, and keeping space clean and healthy
• Keep accurate student attendance records
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community partners
Qualifications:
• Applicants must be 16 years of age or older
o Preferred 18 years of age or older and high school diploma or equivalent
• Understanding of developmental needs of elementary age students and ability to relate well with students
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Patience, flexibility, and empathy
• Ability to pass and maintain an approved criminal background clearance
• Experience in childcare/ child development preferred
Job Specifications:
• Monday- Friday 2:00-5:30pm
• $20.94/per hour
• No work on scheduled no school days, early outs, or school closures due to weather
