GIS Analyst I:
The GIS Analyst I position plays a pivotal role at Gemini, requiring the team member to harness the power of spatial data to support water-related projects. This role emphasizes precision, collaboration, and an intricate understanding of GIS technology. Working closely with a dedicated team of engineers, scientists, and other GIS professionals, the Analyst I will be involved with a variety of projects spanning data production, analysis, and reporting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
GIS Data Management and Production
- Generate and produce high-quality GIS data pertinent to project requirements.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy by regularly referencing and validating sources.
- Organize, store, and maintain GIS datasets efficiently, making them easily accessible for relevant stakeholders.
GIS Analysis and Support
- Conduct detailed spatial analyses to extract meaningful insights for water-related projects.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team, providing GIS support and integrating spatial data insights into project solutions.
- Offer technical assistance to other GIS staff, ensuring consistency and quality in all GIS outputs.
Project Coordination and Collaboration
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings, providing updates, insights, and feedback related to GIS components.
- Assist in coordinating project tasks, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
- Foster strong working relationships with both public and private entities associated with water-related projects.
Field Work and Travel
- Engage in necessary field work, collecting and validating spatial data firsthand.
- Travel primarily within local regions; occasional travel for regional or national conferences.
Continuous Learning and Professional Development
- Keep updated with the latest advancements in GIS technology and best practices.
- Participate in relevant training sessions, workshops, and conferences to enhance professional growth.
EDUCATION (MINIMUM REQUIRED):
- BA/BS in Geography, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
EXPERIENCE (MINIMUM REQUIRED):
- 0-4 years in GIS related work
- Some experience with GIS software, preferably ESRI-based applications
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computational skills.
- Experience with spatial and 3D analyst
- Familiarity with ArcHydro tools
- Computer programming (Python, VB, C++, Java, etc.)
- Good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, written and oral
- Must be computer literate
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
