Position Overview:
Kapur is seeking a motivated individual to join our Natural Resource Team as a Summer Intern in our Burlington, WI office. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in natural resource consulting while working alongside experienced professionals in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct wetland delineations and assist with field data documentation and interpretation.
- Prepare agency permit applications for local, state, and federal permits, including shoreland, wetland, and waterway permitting.
- Assist with WPDES (Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) construction, municipal, and high capacity well permitting and compliance oversight.
- Design and implement erosion and sediment control plans.
- Conduct NHI (threatened/endangered/special concern species) review and habitat assessments.
- Assist with technical report writing and scientific reporting.
- Utilize GPS technology for field data collection and mapping.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, natural resources, botany, ecology, watershed management, or hydrogeology.
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments and conducting fieldwork.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document and interpret field data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally within the state of Wisconsin.
