Minding Your Mind is actively seeking to add to our group of BIPOC speakers in Massachusetts. If you are a young adult who has come through a mental health crisis, are in a productive recovery process, and are interested in sharing your story to inspire others, please contact us.
Training will start April/May 2024 with work in Sept 2024.
Position Description: Share your experience of your mental health struggle and resilience with middle school and high school students. Our goal is to end the stigma around mental health challenges. Speakers often share their experiences with anxiety, depression, self-harm, disordered eating, bullying, perfectionism, suicide ideation and attempts, gender expression and sexual orientation, and substance use.
Presentations are delivered to students during the day. Successful speakers are able to work around a college class schedule, other part-time work, or are seeking flexible employment.
Requirements:
Must be in a productive recovery process with toolbox of skills.
Have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of schools and community groups.
Able to travel to school locations with access to personal reliable transportation.
Compensation: $300/assembly. $100/health class. Max of $600/day.
