What you’ll do:
Prepare and bake cakes, desserts and all of our line utilizing our recipes.
Assist with production, including packaging and storage of all bakery products to established par levels.
Decorate cakes with buttercream and other decorations.
Assist with chocolate work including chocolate tempering, piping and lettering.
Fulfill special orders as needed.
Contribute to creating custom designs for cakes.
Monitor product quality for freshness and ensures proper product rotation.
Perform all needed functions to ensure the smooth operation of the bakery with
the rest of the team. This includes maintaining equipment, ensuring supplies are available and efficient execution of production.
Assist in maintaining up to date records.
Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment.
Assist in inventory taking, ordering & other ongoing duties.
Assist in overseeing quality & presentation of products, their shelf life, storage & rotation.
Who You Are:
A high-energy individual with a passion for creating enticing and delicious cakes, desserts and chocolates who thrives in a fast-paced environment and a team setting.
An accomplished cake decorator (ability to make flowers, decorative borders and an elegant piping technique.
Have in-depth knowledge of ingredients and techniques used in scratch kitchens.
A good communicator able to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow team members, internal customers and vendors.
Possess effective time management and organizational skills.
Have a minimum of 1 year of experience decorating cakes.
Required Job Skills:
Thorough product knowledge.
In-depth knowledge of ingredients and techniques used in scratch kitchens.
Basic math skills for recipe conversions and modifications.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holiday periods. (We are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas & Easter).
Able to stand for long periods and lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
May require use of ladders.
Other desirable skills include working with Excel and Word.
