The After School Enrichment Program Assistant supports a group of 12-18 students (ages 3-11 years) in providing academic, fitness, arts/music and STEM enrichment activities during UCP After School Enrichment Program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Organize daily materials for all lessons & activities, deliver UCP After School lesson plans, facilitate the daily program schedule for group of students.
- Supervise and engage with group of students – monitor and assist children during large group, small group and individual instruction.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure the attention, safety and well-being of all students. Implement Discipline Policy as needed.
- Create a classroom culture that encourages group thinking, curiosity and discovery
- Ensure students are signed in and out via Brightwheel.
- Communicate any parent concerns to Site Coordinator.
- Provide basic care giving duties (utilizing universal health and safety precautions) for children, including, but not limited to changing diapers, feeding children, and cleaning children’s hands, faces etc.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Education and Training: (or equivalent)
High School Diploma (minimal) – Associate Degree or 60 college credits preferred.
High School Juniors/Seniors (over age 16 will be considered)
Minimum Experience:
1 year working with children 3-11 years of age (volunteer work considered)
AND
45 Hour Department of Children and Family Training within first 90 days (for PreK and below and Summer/Aftercare)
First Aid/CPR Certification (UCP provides training)
