Villa Marie School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, your responsibilities will include providing small-group and individualized instruction to students with developmental disabilities in Reading, Writing, and Math. You will also be responsible for teaching or co-teaching P.E., Social Studies, Computers, Transition, and assisting with other life skills and social skills classes. Your role will involve creating and implementing individualized education plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and collaborating with parents and other staff members to ensure the success of each student. You must have a degree in education, preferably with a Special Education endorsement. Skills needed for this job include a strong knowledge of working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, as well as patience, empathy, and compassion when working with students who may have unique challenges or behavioral needs. The ability to be a good team member and work well with other professionals is also an essential skill.
