Wilsbach Distributors, Inc. is a dynamic, 90-year-old, privately held beverage distributor, based in Harrisburg, PA. We distribute industry-leading brands to over 1,400 retailers across 14 counties throughout Central Pennsylvania. We are currently looking for a Controller to fill a key role within our organization due to the planned retirement of our current Controller.
Position Summary: The Controller is a hands-on position and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate will have the background and experience to lead all aspects of financial accounting and the interest and drive to help our CFO to continue to develop and implement the key processes and internal controls required for our growth-oriented company.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and work directly with a team including an accounting manager, and staff responsible for daily reconciliation of driver deliveries, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve the accuracy and consistency of reported financial results.
- Manage the monthly financial close, with the goal of shortening the monthly closing process.
- Coordinate all activities with the Company’s outside accounting firm and manage the annual financial audit and other regulatory examinations.
- Work with the CFO in support of FP&A functions, including analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement to help guide the business in support of our corporate strategy.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Conduct routine audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Corporate tax planning in coordination with the Company’s outside accounting firm and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and filings.
Qualifications Needed:
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, with demonstrated experience collaborating with key executives across various departments within a company, and excellent communication skills. Additional qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, with a minimum 3 years of experience managing daily operations of accounting including monthly financial close and experience managing financial audits. A CPA license in good standing is preferred/
- Prior experience as a controller, or assistant controller in a similar or related business.
- Experience using an AS 400 operating system; familiarity with and prior experience using financial close automation software, a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ethical behaviors and integrity.
