RRS is seeking applicants for the position of Staff Accountant in its Financial Reporting and Corporate Finance department. The Staff Accountant position provides accounting, finance, and business students with an opportunity to obtain hands on experience with Securities and Exchange Commission / FINRA / GAAP accounting practices with an emphasis on broker-dealer net capital and financial responsibility rules. In addition to obtaining the skills and expertise necessary to prepare financial statements and conduct regulatory filings for RRS’ broker-dealer clients, the successful candidate will also conduct research to prepare articles, reports, and client memoranda focusing on the unique issues posed by the SEC’s net capital rule and associated SEC/FINRA interpretations.
Qualified students will conduct advanced research relating to the SEC’s net capital rule and provide support to clients and our consulting team identifying current industry standards, developing trends and the importance of regulatory framework to financial soundness within the securities industry. In addition, students will participate in the daily financial operation of RRS such as accounts receivable/payable, client invoicing, and processing expense reports. It is a team operation to complete daily and monthly tasks. This part-time position based in Deerfield Beach provides flexibility for students. Commitment of 1 year at minimum.
Duties:
- Preparation of monthly financial statements using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Analyze and evaluate financial data and assist in the research and resolution of questions and/or problem items relating to accounts, records and reports generated within the department.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must possess strong analytical and organization skills
- Proficiency in MS office
- Familiarity with QuickBooks
- Highly motivated, a self-starter and a team player willing to take on responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently on diverse assignments, as well as organize and prioritize workload to ensure multiple deadlines are met
- Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management and maintain the utmost confidentiality
- Must be flexible and meet commitments in a fast-paced environment
- Must have completed at least 1 accounting class with a B- or better.
