PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:
This position performs the review of the daily and monthly accounting work by the unit controllers, and supplements such work with corporate adjustments in accordance with established guidelines to ensure the Company’s financial statements are accurate and timely.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform monthly and periodic reporting requirements.
- Assist in obtaining all closing documents on a timely basis.
- Review period profit and loss statements and resolve/document variances
- Review period end balance sheets and prompt unit follow up of unsupported amounts.
- Prepare any wire requests as needed for client payments.
- Assist units with budgets/forecasts.
- Prepare journals and correct identified errors or omissions.
- Produce profit and loss statements and related billings for client payment.
- Reconcile period commissions payable and prepare commission statements adhering to contractual or specified requirements. Send month end detailed support as prepared by unit.
- Reconcile credit card deposits with recorded amounts.
- Provide support to unit controllers for weekly and monthly accounting process.
- Prepare financial reports as requested.
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
- Identify weaknesses in accounting functions in field and inform appropriate management.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with course work in intermediate or advanced accounting or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines.
- Computer knowledge to include Windows and proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others.
- Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Mobility is needed to attend various meetings and events. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays. Travel may be required.
