Work with BCG X’s Venture & Business Builds team to identify, research and build new business ideas.

Do you want to build game-changing businesses with the world’s leading corporate partners? Then dive into this program to learn more.

BCG X’s Venture & Business Builds offering applies an end-to-end approach to build and launch new products, services, business lines/units, and standalone companies. We unlock growth and create strategic advantage by building everything companies need – products, technologies, business models, go-to-market strategies, and operational excellence – to launch projects at speed.

Going beyond the scope of traditional consulting, we operate on the shoreline between pioneering and visionary tech, which allows us to capitalize on transformative opportunities and help clients disrupt the market and themselves. We work closely with clients, employing a proven process of rapid iteration that gets us from idea to impact in less than 12 months by leveraging their untapped strategic assets to create new revenue streams and sources of competitive advantage.

Our work is built on multidisciplinary teaming. Typically, when designing and launching a new venture, we collaborate across 5 key disciplines:

Strategic Design: Identifying customers’ frictions, and coming up with a new business ideaExperience Design: Mapping the customer journey, developing personas, and identifying features to solve human needsProduct Management: Preparing a feature roadmap for new digital productsVenture Architecture: Determining the market opportunity and business modelGrowth Architecture: Defining the growth strategy for a new business

Each task in this program aligns with one of our crucial disciplines, and uses real-life examples to bring the reality of their role to life.

While we encourage you to complete all 5 tasks within the program, you are only required to complete 2 tasks to receive your certificate of completion. We do acknowledge that all 5 tasks are quite different and require specialist vocational experience in line with BCG X chapters.

Choose the tasks which interest you most – note that tasks 4 and 5 are complementary and should be completed in order.

We recognize that these tasks are challenging and that there are undoubtedly phrases and terminology you may not have heard before – don’t worry! We have tried to make this experience as true to life as possible and therefore we ask that you attempt to seek out independent sources of information and do your own research, as required, to help guide you through the tasks.

Disclaimer: Participation in this job simulation is not an employment relationship with BCG. It is our policy that you do not list your completion of this program as work or internship experience on your CV, LinkedIn, or any other social media or professional platform. For guidance on how to accurately represent your experience, review the Forage CV referencing policy.
